Caring for Family Collections

Many of us have collections of family treasures that document significant events, ancestors, or bygone historical eras - which create a record of who we are and where we come from. These personal collections deteriorate over time, but making small changes in storage and handling can have a significant impact on their lifespan. Basic methods of identification, deterioration, and preservation of paper-based and photographic materials will be discussed.
