Community Financial Education Day

Miami-Dade Public Library System, Northeast Dade - Aventura Branch Library

The Miami-Dade Public Library System (MDPLS) is hosting a Financial Education Day being organized by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and has opened seats to SEFLIN members.  This full day event forms part of the CFPB’s Financial Education Project (please see attached CFPB community education handout) to bring financial literacy information and resources to libraries throughout the United States.

Topics to be covered in the workshop include:

  • Introduction to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Library Program & Resources for Community Financial Information & Education
  • Credit
  • Financial Planning
  • Financial Education for Young People
  • Retirement Planning
  • Fraud Prevention (ID theft, Scams etc..)
