Digitization Series: Metadata

SEFLIN is offering a series of six webinars on Digitization. These webinars are based on the DPLA's Public Library Partnerships Project Curriculum, and are ideal for libraries looking to get a digitization project started or learn more about the process.

The Metadata webinar is ideal for information professionals who are new to digitization. This webinar will cover:

  • Importance of Metadata
  • Basic Metadata Fields
  • Controlled Vocabularies
  • Using Spreadsheets for Metadata

This webinar will be presented by Elliot Williams, the Digital Initiatives Metadata Librarian at the University of Miami. Elliot has over five years of experience with cataloging and metadata, working with a variety of systems, materials, and schemas. He cares a lot about inclusive metadata, good user experience, and the history of cataloging.
